Adolphus Hailstork

Adolphus Hailstork is an American Composer who was born in Rochester, New York on April 17, 1941. He started his musical studies at a young age playing the violin and later changing to piano and organ. He also sang in a choir and conducted a boy's choir at his high school. Hailstork obtained his B.A in music from Howard University, his Master's at the Manhattan School of Music, and his Dr from Michigan State University. During his study years, he had the opportunity to study with Nadia Boulanger at the American Institute at Fontainebleau. (For a full bio click on the picture)
