The piece was completed in February 1993 and premiere by Mark Alex Williams (bassoon) and Choonwoo Kim (piano) in April at the "Premieres of New music Concert" at Michigan State University. Nash found inspiration to write the piece after J.S. Bach’s Allegro from Sonata II in A minor for Solo Violin.
